BTS Ep 01. Our First Episode Launch – our workflow in creating a podcast

My mind feels extremely disorganized because I feel like there are so many moving pieces to get our podcast ready for launch. We don’t quite have a date yet, but Jay & I plan to get it out early this year. I need to just make another list to help me prioritize.
Jay is taking on the first edits for the first episode & we’ve created some really cute thumbnails. Jay is so creative, I can’t believe she drew this up on procreate!
January 3, 2024
Today I woke up at 6:00 am and spent the morning before work creating and setting up our youtube channel, instagram and linktree accounts. Jay is going to get started on setting up our Spotify & TikTok accounts.
Jay finished the edit of the first episode and uploaded it onto Spotify for me to listen. It was surreal having our logo show up on the car dash as I pressed play. There is something so energizing about creating something you’ve imagined and then having it appear in real life. There were so many great moments in the episode, I think we are just going to keep getting better and better!

6:35 pm – We decided we are going to launch the podcast name today!! Soooo excited. We’re going to create a joint collaboration post to introduce each other and I think we are about 90% there with our post-production. Our launch date will be January 8, 2024!! EEkkkkk!!

That was such a rush last night!! I have so much admiration to all the creatives out there who create their own products, videos and content. I now understand how much goes into each project, big or small. Releasing something that is important to you, that you took the time to create is so exciting. I can’t wait to keep going & keep sharing the podcast episodes.
Jay and I have such a great work flow together. This week she is taking care of the long form edits for Spotify & YouTube, while I do all the short forms for our Instagram, TikTok & YT Shorts. I spent all day today (8hours) editing all the short form content.
January 8, 2024 – Launch Day!
It’s surreal. I can’t believe after all of that hard work, Jay & I launched the first episode of our podcast. It is so crazy to me. I can’t wait to see where all this takes us. My goals towards the end of this is to really just find my voice, be confident in what I’m producing, work towards projects that light me up inside and grow from this experience. I love this idea of female friendships and bonding over something we are both passionate about.
After the launch today, I found myself wanting to jump right into the next thing (as we plan to have a new episode released every Monday). I realized that as much as there is so much to do, I’ve learnt now to not over step these moments and really just sit in it for a bit. This time will pass by so quickly whether I jump to the next thing or not, and it is so important that I take that pause to really reflect & be proud of what we’ve done.
