Calgary has some cool coffee shops to be found. For those of you who love a local vibe, I’ve got you covered. If you’re like me, you’d rather find that hole in the wall coffee shop that only locals know about. It beats heading to one of the many chain shops that you can easily find in your home city. Because let’s face it, you didn’t travel all the way to Calgary to just to start your day at a Starbucks.
What makes these coffee shops so cool are their laid back vibes, amazing coffee and friendly baristas. They make you feel like you’re just at home with a warm cup of coffee in hand. Each coffee shop offers their own unique charm and will have you wanting to come back to visit again soon.

Whether you’re just needing a quick coffee to go or looking to lounge and stay a while, you’ll likely find your favourite on this list. Here are 10 cool coffee shops in Calgary that I’m excited to share with you.
1. Neighbour Coffee
Neighbour Coffee is probably one of my most visited and favourite coffee shops in Calgary. This coffee shops has this greenhouse feel to it that brightens up my day every time I sit in. The windows draw in so much natural light, which makes for the coziest stay.
In the summertime, they open up a little patio that is also dog friendly. I would recommend the honey oat vanilla latte and any of the tostadas.

2. Deville Coffee
Deville has many locations all over Calgary and I’ve yet to visit them all. One of my favourite locations is in the Kensington area. I love sitting along the bright bar windows for a coffee date, and then going for a stroll around the neighbourhood to explore some local shops.
While this coffee shop provides a cool atmosphere for a casual work meet up, it’s also great for an afternoon with friends or as a quick stop for a pick me up coffee. Overall, I love the modern and muted colours of the cafe. Their pastries are also delivered fresh daily from some of Calgary’s best bakeries.

3. Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters (Simmons Building Cafe)
One of my favourite Phil & Sebastian locations is at the Simmons Building in East Village. Inside you’ll also find a beautiful, warm, open-concept space joined with the Sidewalk Citizen Bakery and Charbar. Stay a while and take in the Edwardian-style architecture of this once mattress and bedding factory in 1912.
After that, I would highly recommend you take your coffee to-go and head out to the Riverwalk for a stroll along the gorgeous Bow River.

4. Analog Coffee
Analog is another one of my go to’s. I guess you can say I’m a regular here, as the barista’s know my coffee order by heart. I appreciate any coffee shop that makes an effort to get to know you like that!
Their location in Inglewood is always my favourite, as I love a patio option for summer. The warm brown tones of the coffee shop are so aesthetic and makes for a great vibe. There are lots of windows surrounding the seating area, which gives lots of natural light for an enjoyable stay as well.

5. Particle Coffee
What makes Particle Coffee so cool is that they are currently only a pop up only on the weekends. This cafe is located inside House 831, which is a clubhouse for creatives to connect. Particle Coffee’s seasonal features and rich espresso drinks are a reason for you to add them to your must visit coffee shop list.

6. Loophole Coffee Bar
If your’e wondering what kind of vibe this coffee shop is, imagine this: You’re walking around downtown Calgary, and you stumble upon Loophole Coffee Bar. A cool coffee shop during the day and a lively music venue at night. The vibe is just right for a cozy day working at a cafe or as a meeting spot with your friend. There’s lots to do nearby too, and if you’re a book lover be sure to visit Sigla Books right beside it.

7. The Next Page
You + me, books and coffee? This is one of the most aesthetic bookshops in Calgary and what makes them so cool is that they have a cafe in the back. You’ll love coming here where you can take it slow and get lost in a quiet, locally owned book store.

8. I Love You Coffee Shop
You’re going to be obsessed with the cool vibes here at I Love You Coffee Shop. Walk in and you’ll find good coffee in a vinyl record shop that loves jazz music.

9. The Roasterie
The Roasterie are the coffee experts when it comes to brewing a good cup of coffee for you. The barista’s are so friendly and will help you find the best brew for your tastes. You can expect a very eclectic and cool vibe here for your coffee experience.
What’s also so unique about this coffee shop is that they actually roast their beans in-house! The freshness and flavour of each brew is unmatched.

10. Good News Coffee
Good News Coffee is a really cozy and cool spot for your caffeine pick me up. Their coffee shop offers such a beautiful patio, that gives a relaxed backyard and homey feel. If you’re looking for natural light and a cool spot to sit to read, work or catch up with a friend, this coffee shop is a must visit.
