As a local living in Calgary, I’ve made sure to curate the best list of things to do in Calgary for you. Whether you’re visiting Calgary for the first time, or perhaps you’re also a local looking for some new experiences, make sure to add these to your list of things to do this summer.
Summer seems to come and go, and before you know it we’ll be talking about the autumn fall leaves and getting our first pumpkin spiced latte. But before we get there, let’s take a moment to capture what summer in Calgary has to offer.
Calgary is known for its vibrant evening night markets, the must try local ice cream shops and beautiful walking/biking paths along the Bow River. I did not hold back on this summer list, so lets get right into it!

- Bridgeland is a relaxing and quiet neighbourhood where locals hang out at Made By Marcus, Shiki Menya and UNA pizza + wine
- Don’t miss a walk down Stephen Avenue, one of Calgary’s most iconic and vibrant streets, known for its heritage architecture, art attractions, shopping, dining, and entertainment venues
- East Village is a cherished urban neighbourhood often really lively in the summertime with the Easy Days Pop-Up Market, locals grabbing coffee and breakfast at Sidewalk Citizen and going for a stroll along the scenic Riverwalk
- The Shops at Avenue Thirty Four is a beautiful way to spend the afternoon in this tight knit block of local boutique stores. Visit one of my faves Sunday State for the most thoughtfully curated collection of clothing and home goods.
- In the summer, patios spill onto the sidewalks on 17th Avenue, creating a lively al fresco dining experience. A must visit block for fantastic restaurants (and also a great vibe to spend the evenings).
