1. Plan a Romantic Dinner with a View
Major Tom Bar is the perfect place for a romantic date night. This gorgeous restaurant is located on the 40th floor of Stephen Avenue Place in downtown Calgary. Be sure to book a table during sunset, as the panoramic view of the city skyline creates the perfect ambiance for a romantic night out. Their dishes are absolutely incredible, with my favourite being the fusilli.

If you and your partner love wine and food, this will be the perfect fun and cozy date night experience.

7. Go Cafe Hopping during Calgary’s Hot Chocolate Festival
YYC Hot Chocolate Fest comes just in time for Valentine’s Day in Calgary, as participating cafes and restaurants offer their own house-made chocolatey creations. Part of the proceeds also go towards a charitable cause, Calgary’s Meals on Wheels, supporting Calgarians with nutritious meals. You can both try out a new local coffee shop and vote on your favourites!
8. Spend the Evening at an Independent Cinema
The Plaza is an independent cinema that would make for the most romantic date night out. Get comfy, share popcorn and a film together at this iconic single screen theatre.
9. Book a Valentine’s Day Photoshoot with a Photographer
Take your partner out and capture some memories together with a lifestyle shoot. You can make it an elegant evening by dressing up and taking some romantic photos in the city or keep it cozy and casual with a Valentine’s Day photoshoot at home.
10. Take your Date Ice Skating
February is still a chilly time in Calgary, so winter snow activities would be great if you both don’t mind the cold. The Olympic Plaza or the Prince’s Island Park rink are both beautiful places to spend a couple hours ice skating in the city. After that, you could cozy up with a warm hot chocolate together or head out to a cocktail bar.
